Gum Recontouring
Gum recontouring is a procedure to change the shape of your gum to achieve a more ideal appearance of your smile with healthy and well-proportioned gums. |
Gum recontouring is recommended for patients with the following conditions: |
- Gums that are too high and make the teeth appear long (commonly caused by gum recession)
- Gums that are too low and cover too much of the teeth
- Uneven gumline
The process of gum recontouring involves cutting away excess gum tissue around the teeth or adding tissue to the receded gums to even out the shape of the gumline and improve the appearance of your smile. |

Wisdom Tooth Removal
Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to come out right at the back of the mouth, making it very difficult to keep clean resulting in gum diseases and cavities. Some grow out normally while others come out at an angle and get stuck (impacted). They can put pressure on other teeth which affect teeth alignment too. |
Wisdom tooth removal is normally recommended to prevent infection or damage to the tooth next to it. When there is an infection it is usually painful, swollen and you cannot open your mouth properly. |
The position and state of the wisdom tooth need to be assessed with an x-ray and your dentist will determine whether a regular extraction or surgery is required. |

Cyst Removal
A cyst is a closed sac of tissue formed in the gums near crowns, on the tips of the roots of dead teeth, pre-emergent molars and teeth which are not healthy. Generally, a dental cyst is not visible from a physical check-up and may require X-ray to spot the presence of dental cysts. |
Dental cysts are filled with air, soft material or fluid. They are usually slowing growing and may evolve into serious complications requiring complicated surgical procedures. |
There are no obvious dental cyst symptoms, but if you are advised to conduct an X-ray examination shall you noticed some of the subtle symptoms below: |
- Sensitive teeth
- Teeth displacement – gaps may appear between teeth
- Loose teeth
- Swelling of a particular gum area
- Discomfort when pressing on a particular area of the gum
- Numbness in the face and numbs due to the cyst pressing on a nerve
