Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a quick and non-invasive procedure to restore the whiteness of your teeth. It is safe and inexpensive to help removing deep stains, repair discolouration and brighten the teeth by 8-10 shades.
Teeth whitening is recommended for people who may be born with naturally discoloured teeth, or people having stained teeth from tea, coffee and cigarettes. For some individuals, their teeth may lose whiteness with age too. |
The treatment uses a high-quality whitening gel that is applied to the teeth. After which, a special laser light will be positioned over the teeth to activate the gel and brighten the colour of the teeth. It is usually a 3 to 4-week procedure depending on the teeth condition. For the best result, our dentists may also recommend home whitening kits for long-lasting maintenance.

Scaling and Polishing
Scaling and polishing is a non-surgical deep cleaning procedure to remove bacteria deposits around the teeth and gums. It is an effective treatment to remove the stubborn tartar and plaque without damaging your teeth and gums.
Regular treatment is recommended to help maintain healthy teeth and gums. As we eat and drink, food and bacteria may accumulate in the teeth. |
Eventually, it may form a film around the teeth and gums, known as dental plaque. Over time, the dental plaque hardens to form tartar and stick onto the tooth structure. If left untreated, it may lead to dental problems such as dental cavities and inflammatory gums.
The treatment starts with a scaling process to loosen and remove tartar and plaque that cannot be removed by regular brushing and flossing. After which, the polishing stage cleans away surface stains, leaving your teeth smooth and shiny.

Root Canal Treatment
Toothache, prolonged sensitivity to hot or cold, gum swelling and pain when chewing may indicate a need for root canal treatment. It is a procedure to eliminate toothaches without having to extract the infected tooth.
Root canal treatment is needed when the soft tissues (pulp) inside the root canal becomes infected and reaches the nerves of the affected tooth. During root canal treatment, the infected pulp is removed. The root canal is then cleaned and disinfected to be ready for filling. The dental surgeon completes the treatment with a temporary filling to seal the canal. |
At the end of the root canal treatment, the tooth continues to function like a natural tooth. It helps to maintain the ability to chew food efficiently while protecting other teeth from excessive wear.

Blood on the toothbrush, occasional bad breaths and red or swollen gums are signs indicating the development of gum disease. Gum treatments can range from nonsurgical process to surgery procedure depending on the stage of the disease. Gum disease is a chronic infection that destroys the tissue supporting the teeth. It originates from the bacteria that forms a layer of film (plaque) on the surface of the teeth. On a minor scale, the bacteria infect the gums, resulting in gum sensitivity, redness and swelling. |
On a more serious case, the bacteria can spread into the bone to destruct the supporting structures of the teeth. If left untreated, the tooth may be severely infected and has to be extracted. Gum disease can be prevented by having regular screening with your dentist. Not all gum diseases come with significant symptoms, contact us to schedule an examination today! |

Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and Onlays are alternative treatments to dental crowns when the usual filling process is no longer enough to adequately repair a tooth, but not so much that a crown is necessary.
It is recommended for people having badly chipped teeth or looking for a solution to replace the awkward metallic (silver or gold) fillings in the teeth. |
Inlays and Onlays are porcelain teeth fabricated in the dental laboratory. They are customised to fit exactly into each individual’s tooth cavity thus giving the teeth a natural look and good functionality. Inlays and Onlays are bonded to the remaining tooth structure. They can help to reinforce the tooth structure to give strong protection to the teeth that last long.

Dental Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are thin, porcelain shells bonded to the surface of the teeth to correct stained, discoloured, chipped and slightly crooked teeth.
Veneers are a convenient form of dental treatment that can provide excellent aesthetic results without causing pain or discomforting aches to the patients. They can be custom-made to mimic the desired size, shape and colour of the teeth to create a very natural look. Some procedures may place a single veneer on just one tooth, while others may involve recreating the entire smile with several veneers. |
Veneer treatment is a long-lasting cosmetic solution to imperfect teeth. It is an irreversible process, thus detailed examination and analysis are needed to ensure it is the right option for the patients.

Wisdom Tooth Treatment
Wisdom tooth removal is a common procedure to remove impacted wisdom teeth – the third set of molars in the very back of the mouth that develop during the late teen years or early 20s. Wisdom tooth treatment is advisable to be done early before the roots of the teeth are fully formed and embedded in the jawbone. It helps to prevent infections and dental problems arising from the wisdom tooth that does not erupt properly (Most of them do not erupt properly).
Early removal of the wisdom tooth can also prevent the loss or infection of adjacent teeth. If you develop symptoms such as pain and swelling around the jaw, red or bleeding gums and bad breath, kindly schedule a thorough examination with us. |

Dentures
Dentures (artificial teeth) are prosthetic devices consisting of pink gum-like material and teeth to replace the existing teeth.
It is recommended to help edentulous (having no teeth) patients to restore the ability to eat, drink, speak and laugh with the dentures in place. Dentures are removable teeth and gum structures that need to be cleaned regularly to ensure good oral hygiene. |
Dentures are fabricated in the laboratory-based on the impressions made for each individual patient. A well-maintained denture usually lasts about 5-8 years and requires a minor modification to the denture fit to ensure its good function.
Regain your smile confidence and eating pleasure with the help of dentures. Contact Lou Dental Centre for a detailed consultation at your earliest convenience! |

Crown is a dental restoration process to cover the visible portion of the tooth with a tooth-shaped cap. Crown is recommended for people having badly damaged teeth due to cavities, cracks or trauma, but not able to perform fillings or dental implants due to medical or teeth conditions. |
Bridge is a fixed dental prosthesis that uses multiple crowns connected together to replace one or more missing teeth. Bridge is recommended for people having unsightly gaps between teeth due to missing tooth.
